B : Range of motion exercises


Aim: this group of exercises helps to maintain your shoulder range of motion, and improves both lymphatic and blood circulations.


1.     Curls up:

Procedure: Alternative to shoulder curve.
Do 5 times.
-Lie with your knees bent and your hands resting on the top of your thighs.
-Take a deep breath in.
-As you breathe out strongly with a "huff", run your hands up towards your knees.






 

2.     Knee tucks:


Procedure: Do 15 times.
-Bend your knees.
-On your affected side, grasp the leg under the thigh.
-Bring the knee to your chest by bending your arms.
-Then straighten your arms, letting the leg pathway down.










3.     Dorsi flexion :

Procedure: -Sit on the floor or an exercise bench with your legs extended in front of you.
-Roll up a small towel and place it underneath your left leg about midway between your ankle and knee.
-Gently pull your foot backward, bringing the top of your foot toward your lower leg.







4.     Planter flexion:


Procedure: -Sit on the floor or an exercise bench with your legs extended in front of you.
-Roll up a small towel and place it underneath your left leg about midway between your ankle and knee.
-Gently move your foot downward, moving the top of the foot away from your body.


 



5.     Straight leg raising with dorsi and planter flexion:


This exercise should be done on two steps:


Procedure:


A :The patient position is lying on his/her back while bending the sound lower extremity and keep the other one straight, and keeping the arms straight beside his body.


- Raise the lower extremity up to the level of the sound thigh. Try to hold this position for 5 seconds then return to the starting position.

B :
when you are lying on your back and your leg raised straight, move your foot toward and away of your body, do it 5 times, and then down your leg to the bed.
Repeat the exercise 15 times

 

                 




 



6.     Hip knee flexion:


Procedure:


-The patient position is lying on his/her back while keeping both lower extremities straight.-Bend your lower extremity and feel the contraction of the muscle.


-Try to hold this position for 5 seconds then return to the starting position.
