Quadriped Back exercise

Goal: 

-
It is a combination of stretching and strengthening of the back and abdominal muscles, it also helps in spinal stability.


Procedure:


-Start by kneeling on your knees and hands; put yourself in a cat position (as seen in picture)

Phase 1: Start by rotating your pelvis backwards by humping your spine upwards towards the ceiling; try to hold for 5-10 seconds

Phase 2: Relax your back so that it moves towards the bed –floor by rotating your pelvis forward, try to hold for 5-10 seconds

Each phase may be done continuously or may be done by itself.













Notes

-Do not do the exercises unless advised by your doctor.

-Repetitions of each exercise depend on your tolerance and condition, usually between 30-50 times.

-If you feel any pain while doing the exercises stop and ask your doctor.
